  NGO Goals

To promote activities which are in harmony with the environment and which lead to healthy and sustainable development. The focus is on rural areas where majority of the Indian population live and where natural resources are either untapped or exploited.

  Achievements

Unifying the villagers
When we selected Ramanwadi in 2001 for development, the village community was divided into groups based on political affiliation, caste division and internal rivalry. Today most of the villagers are realizing the importance of unity and sidelining their earlier rivalry or affiliations.
Empowerment of women
At Ramanwadi, active participation of women is encouraged a more...

  Summary

VMT plans to adopt Ramanwadi towards local self-sufficiency
A tentative plan for the development work at Ramanwadi is as follows:
- Health and value-education for children
-Watershed development
- Organic farming and cottage industry
- Bio gas unit set ups
- Mid day meal programs
- Animal husbandry

Since all the phases consist of activities that are of an ongoing nature, the plan is that in each phase, Venu Madhuri will set the ball rolling, and soon commence the next phase at an appropriate time.
