  NGO Goals

To empower women from conflict zones in order to promote the culture of peace. Key objectives are:
1. To create and assist an integrated approach to women's empowerment by providing and organizing quality school and college education from Frade 10 to graduation.
2. All girls will acquire a professional or vocational qualification to enable them to pursue a worthwhile career at home and contribute towards peace-building

  Achievements

Sadbhavana Girl's Hostel was setup in Bangalore in June 2002 with a strength of 19 girls who have now (2004) finished their final board exams. 8 more girls have since joined.

  Summary

The project is the brainchild of Lt. Gen. Arjun Ray (retd.) who was behind Operation Sadbhavana in Jammu and Kashmir. Gen. Ray sought premature retirement from the Indian Army and has now taken up goals of this NGO which he setup. With his extensive experience in Jammu and Kashmir, he setup the Trust for Empowering Women of Ladakh to empower women from conflict zones in order to promote the culture of peace.
