Maati as a sangathan came together in 2000, and as a non party political group, is committed to addressing issues related to the struggles of the everyday lives of mountain women, of livelihood and food security, of a life free from violence.

Maati is a place where women come, meet and organize. And share. Our joys and hopes. We work the earth and grow our own food and sell some of it. We procure and make available seeds, sprinklers and more...

- Income generation thro wool products and rajma
- health awareness and pregnancy testing
- networking with local and regional women's groups
- panchayati raj election process- supporting women representatives and strengthening the democratic processes of governances.
- Van Panchayat- active participation in governance and critically reviewing the State policy on Community Forests.
