  Achievements

Apne Aap has about 300 members in the red-light district in Mumbai. It has effectively managed to provide the women with ration cards and government services. It has filed complaints against police brutality and has organized workshops etc. to build awareness in the community. The center has become a vibrant venue for various classes, movie screenings, lectures and visits by celebrities

  Summary

Apne Aap is about space, about options, and alternatives
Apne Aap accepts the women for what they are, realising the circumstances of their mode of existence and their needs.
Apne Aap is about Human Rights. We recognise the obligations under which the women are drawn to the indignities of every day living. Apne Aap envisions them taking charge of their own lives. Themselves for themselves - Apne Aap, in fact.
