  NGO Goals



Development in rural Maharashtra through education is our motto. A vast potential lies dormant amongst the partially educated womenfolk in rural areas. The president of VRDC Smt. Nirmala Purnadare has devoted her life to the upliftment of these women. She knows the ground reality from very close quarters for last fifty years. 1) Through our teachers training program, we have so far trained about 10,000 village women in 10 districts of Maharashtra.

2) By the last count, we have 163 balwadis – the list of villages is given in the enclosed annual report. Approximately 5200 children are receiving pre-primary education in the year 2001-02.

We provide Balwadi training of six months to the girls in their own regions. The tuition fees are very nominal, and we conduct the classes in the vicinity of there homes. ( We have a mobile team of trainee teachers ). Out of these trainees we employee a few enterprising girls to run our balwadis). The rest of the trainee girls either get some employment outside, and even if not. they get a benefit of widened outlook and a new awareness in child care. Some of them go to the local schools and Remand homes to conduct the hobby classes .
