Environment Support Group (ESG) is an independent not-for-profit non-governmental organisation, founded in 1996 and registered as a Public Charitable Trust in 1998. Its main functions involve research, training, campaign support, and advocacy on a variety of environmental and social justice issues.

  Summary

 

AID is supporting ESG's endeavor to hold a conference to collectively review changes in Environmental Governance in India and evolve strategies for response and action has been very good. So far ESG have strong representation from groups working on the following issues: forest rights, coastal communities, north east regional issues, mining, urban infrastructure, dams and rivers, GMO and biotechnology issues, farming and food security, nuclear power and liability issues, EIA Notification, human rights, water use and rights, etc.
