  Summary

To revive local self-governance systems, which our work on Panchayati Raj and creating Panchayat Academy essentially addresses.

To revive and build village industries that are labour intensive, not dependent of electricity where possible, dependent on renewable and local sources of energy where necessary, making wise use of information technology in a way that it does not interfere with the village culture, eco-friendly and making use of local resources.

The role of technology should be to facilitate the improvisation of village industries and sources of renewable energy, within this framework.

We need to build APPROPRIATE technology, which will help rebuild the village economy.
