  NGO Goals

The goal of this NGO is to provide a shelter for handicapped and destitute women and impart necessary vocational training to them like sewing, weaving, embroidery etc to produce marketable quality products. This would provide a new direction to the lives of these women and make them independent and financially self-sustained.

  Achievements

Currently they have imparted training in weaving to 18 hearing impaired women.

  Summary

Prabartak Sangha Destitute Home (Project has been uploaded in the website) is a shelter for handicapped and destitute women that was established in 1943 by Sri Motilal Roy. The centre also focuses on providing vocational training to the physically and mentally challenged or sexually exploited women, in order to improve their quality of living and help them lead a financial self-sustained and independent life. The skills currently taught are weaving, sewing and embroidery. They want to get in touch with entrepreneurs who can train the residents (for a period of 1 year) to produce goods (of saleable quality) that could be marketed.
