  NGO Goals

RVC was set up in the year 1989 by Ravindranath, an engineer who completed his masters in Rural Energy at IIT Delhi, before proceeding to work with SWRC in Tilonia, Rajasthan (which if AIDers were to recall, was in a way the birthplace for the Right to Information Movement started by Aruna and Nikhil). With a view to building capacities of communities in different parts of India, while also working on policy level changes through advocacy, many more...

  Achievements

In 1993, RVC moved to Akajan in Dhemaji district of Assam, and with support from the SWRC disposition fund they set up a 300 sq.ft. bamboo-stilt office, on land in a graveyard donated by the local community. The group has since earned the trust and respect of the local community and has now expanded into a truly community based organization.
