  Summary

 

 

This is renewal of funding for next year.
The Gyan Ganga project is an initiative of Parichay, based in Tukhmirpur, East Delhi. The project deals with the rehabilitation of mentally challenged and saw the day of the dawn when a registered practitioner, already working in the area on several other issues stepped ahead to examine the extent and the prevalence of mental disorders in the area.

Performed awareness activities in neighboring schools. Rented space to train and teach kids with mental disabilities

 

  Goals

 

 

#To raise awareness and provide expert counseling to parents of kids with mental disabilities about the causes of disabilities, characteristics and potentialities of individuals with disabilities #Extend their already existing Non Formal Education program for kids with mental disabilities. #Develop parents support groups for support and advocacy of rights of persons with special needs #Conduct workshops and training programs on “management of disability at home” for the parents and caretakers #Disseminate information on legal provisions for the benefits and welfare of mentally challenged
