- River Revival Action Plan to be operationalised in the field a. Submission of a river revival action plan to the Revenue Secretary on request utilising River Management Fund b. Organising small group meetings in each grama panchayath in the river basin c. Local volunteers to be hand picked for the massive field based campaign ahead d. Action plan to be implemented with the involvement of local self governments and supervision of departments and district collectorate - Schools for river idea to spread to other river basins a. Plastic Free Vazhachal Campaign to involve more schools inside and outside the river basin b. School and common school programs to be expanded to other schools beyond the five schools being carried out now. - Ensure Successful Declaration and Implementation of Ecologically Sensitive Areas in the Western Ghats by the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel ( WGEEP ) a. Monitoring the activities of the WGEEP panel b. Ensure the effective declaration and implementation of ESAs in the Western Ghats -Evolve consensus for Reservoir Operations Model among River Basin local self governments, departments and other relevant stakeholders -Have been leading an action research program in the Chalakudy river to arrive at the optimum reservoir operations model for harmonising the upstream dam discharges with the downstream irrigation and drinking water needs. it is almost on table and will be taken to the river basin panchayaths and departments for building consensus in 2011 -Downstream impacts of dams workshop to be organised in Karnataka -One of the decisions taken at the Mexico International Rivers Meet was to organise downstream workshops in the Western Ghats and the North East to start discussions in India on the downstream impacts of dams -Save Western Ghats Movement will take the lead in which i am a core member to organise the workshop at near Saravati falls. Saravati waterfalls was lost to the Linganamakki dams in 1974 - River Basin Planning National Workshop at Delhi to evolve an effective and practical framework for river basin planning in India -I have been instrumental in designing the National Workshop along with International Rivers South Asia.
