  Summary

Target Group
===========
The Tribal and Backward communities living in 20 villages of Tentalapasi, Hunda and Baragarh Gram Panchayats of Harichandanpur and Banspal Blocks in
Keonjhar district are the target group of this programme.

SHORT PROFILE OF THE PROJECT AREA
==================================
The project covered 20 villages of Harichandanpur and Banspal Blocks in Keonjhar district.These villages are mostly inhabited by Juanga, Bhuyan, Bathudi, Kisan, Munda tribal groups.
Almost all the villages came under the hilly area and forest coverage. The juang villages located under groves in hill slops and where a perennial stream flows. The people are addicted to country liquor that is prepared with fertilizer applications and harmful for tribal health. The main source of income of the
people comes from forest products, shifting cultivation, daily wages and agricultural activities. Their little income does not meet their basic requirement. 100% population being under poverty line and people do not get
full employment at the locality. So few people are migrating to the nearby towns during off- season and back when monsoon returns. The women are
engaged in collection of green forest fruits, roots, leaves and mushroom during the concern season that they use as their food. So the majority
children of such population become the victim of diseases like malnutrition, jaundice, malaria, tuberculosis, diarrhea etc. Even the first - aid medicines sometime they are deprived off.
