The vision of SPS is to Implement Holistic Development Model through
1. Protection of Environment and judicious utilization of natural resources with a focus on meeting livelihood needs of marginalized rural poor and upholding their dignity
2. Pressurize government for transparency and stopping corrupt practices - Filed PIL and also pressurized govt. to implement Lokayukta report of 2008, Central Empowerment committee, and AP govt.
3. Organizing the community –
• Self help groups
• Village level federations
• State Level committee
4. NREGA implementation





SPS is Voluntary Organization working in Karnataka and other parts of India since 1984. It works in close co-operation with several other voluntary organizations, networks and movements, to promote actions with people’s power on broader scale towards social transformation and to bring about larger collective impacts on the governmental policies, deliberated legislations and programmes for human- well-being . SPS was awarded the “Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar” in 1992 and the Rajyotsava Award (for Environment) in 1987.





SPS is determined to take issue of mining in a more holistic way. The are targetting 3 villages of Bellary district where illegal mining is rampant 1. Scientific study to define optimum mining involving scientist from Hampi Kannada University and Gulbarga university 2. Mobilize people to form an opinion, take a stand and become fearless against the corrupt practices of powerful Reddy Brothers 3. Train people in NREGA and other concept trainings
