Jaagriti is a non-profit, non-government organization to awaken, encourage and empower the youth of the country for creating sustainable development, while addressing the education, economic and nutrition requirements of the poor communities. Jaagriti was started in February 2009 (under AID Delhi) to provide non-formal primary education to children of migrant labourers in Dwarka, New Delhi. Since then, the organization has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. The various program areas of Jaagriti are:
Education (both formal and non-formal)
Health and Nutrition
Community Development
Youth Leadership Development
Center for Development Studies





Regular non-formal education classes for over 100 children (6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday and 4 hours each day) Admission of over 92 Children in a nearby primary government schools in Dwarka. Development of drawing, theatre and dance skills and improvement of learning habits of the Children. Community development in areas of education and health and nutrition. Improvement in Health of the children. Start of Mobile Library and development of reading skills. Basic computer training for 8 students. Celebration of various occasions, festivals and national holidays with the children at the centers.





To generate awareness and consciousness about the importance and benefits of education, healthcare and nutrition so that these are taken-up as a choice and not coercion. To introduce education and provide basic elementary education to the children at these centers. To provide skill based training to children through regular drawing, writing, singing, dancing etc. classes and develop life-long skills and talents in the children. To establish a bond of love, affection and trust between the children, their parents and the volunteers.
