His novel and successful waste management initiatives have been nationally recognized as well as internationally by organizations such as UNICEF and Earth Corps. He has been supported by AID for about six years now, and his work is well known to most chapters. He is also known for his ambitious project to regreen the denuded hills around Vellore. AID had previously funded and experimental reforestation project in 2005. Now AID is supporting a similar but larger-scale initiative for five hills.
