NBJKs mission is to educate, organize and empower the rural poor to promote development as a liberating force for achieving social justice, economic growth and self-reliance. However, the organization also took notice of the tremendous increase in the rate of migration of rural people to cities in last several decades. Most of these migrants end up living in poorer conditions in the slums of urban area. This project is focussed on giving education to children of 8 such slums in and around Patna, Bihar





* Awareness and motivation amidst slum dwellers to get their children enrolled in NFE centers and get educated. * Parent’s teachers committee formed to ensure regulation of the centers. * 164 girls and 101 boys represent the total strength of student enrolled in the Non Formal Education center. * 23 children labour were enrolled in Non Formal Education center operational in the project area. * Teacher emerged as resource persons on aspects of community mobilization, education, health and environment. * Extra curricular activity has generated interest and joyful environment in the community and the children





Holistic development of disadvantaged children, including adolescents, in 10 slums of Patna through education, primary health services, vocational skill development and social, economical, political and organizational up-liftment of mothers and women. Objective of the project : • To educate 300 slum Children through joyful learning, with special focus on girl child with inculcation of good habits and hygiene • To organize & involve mothers of those children and other slum- women with some Income Generation Activity towards economic upliftment • To provide knowledge on Reproductive Health, marriages and small family • Vocational Skill development & Functional Literacy to 150 Muslim girls • To ensure better health condition in 8 slums through primary health services/camps
