  Summary

 

 

In the stretch of Tungabhadra river from Mantralayam (Kurnool Dst) to Sunkesala (Mahbubnagar) barrage, there are more than 30 villages located on the banks river. Most of the families in these villages are dependent on Agriculture for their livelihood. Most of the agricultural land is located parallel to the river flow, within 1-2 km from the river, due to which, when the massive floods hit these areas on October 1st and 2nd of 2009, most of Farmers have lost almost everything including crops, lands, houses, stored grains etc. AID Hyd along with CSA helped revive the agricultural practices in Sangala and Kondapuram villages of Kurnool. The coordinator helped promote sustainable style of agriculture in 3 other villages along with Sangala and Kondapuram.

 
 

  Achievements

 

 

Achievements Number of hectares of standing crop which was dying due to the unavailability of irrigation water, was revived CSA and AID Hyd by applying Organic method of Farming The lands that were filled with sand, Coordinators helped to renew agricultural lands such as leveling lands with large pits, cast out sand from sand filled lands and fill silt in the soil eroded lands.156 Acres of land was leveled in the villages of Sangala and Kondapuram. 30 Farmers from 5 villages were chosen to be helped for Organic style of farming.

1. Promote sustainable method of farming and help the farmers revive the soil fertility . 2. Conduct workshops and trainings in order to education the farmers of Organic Farming
