MERDS proposes to start a production unit using 10 selected trainees from their training unit and there will be a experienced facilitator to run the unit successfully.There will be a team of 4 women represtatives and they will facilitate in the marketing process. They have planned to stich nighties, pettycoats, shirts and children wears in khadhi and cotton. AID provided them with setup money to buy the machines and raw materials. Once the unit starts generating profit, a percentage will be given to the existing training unit. The hope is that the training unit will function together with the manufacturing without a need for funding from AID.





* The first set of shirts have been stitched and sold to the locals





* Set up a fully functional manufacturing unit that provides income to all members * Generate enough profit so that a percentage can be donated to the existing training unit. * Lead by example in establishing an all woman unit in the area.
