  Summary

This project is targeted at providing early detection and early intervention to developmentally challenged children from 0-12 years of age. The initial child developmental center was started in 2009 targeting the urban slums with a 25 km radius around the center of Kolkatta. They have expanded operations to the rural district of Puruhlia as of now.
They screen children in the targeted areas using trained workers , examine and diagnose them using valid objective measures and rating systems, plan treatments and in addition counsel the parents and make them an integral part of the treatment. Their interventions involve a multi-pronged approach with
1) a simultaneous focus on motor, cognitive, language & communication skills
2)Approach the child as a whole & not a piece-meal therapy
3)Inter disciplinary communication & integration
4) Customized therapy for every UNIQUE child and
5) Counselling at all stages
