Health Clinic in bagrumnalla

Rupantars work involved more intense engagement with 28 villages, where they had village health workers, and less intense with more than 50 settlements. They also had a more sporadic engagement with traditional birth attendants , which had been strengthened by midwifery training that some of these birth attendants had received in the past at Shaheed Hospital, Dalli Rajhara.

Rupantars health workers have been engaged in conducting malaria census involving collection of blood samples and slides in their own villages, and analysing the data. They have also continued to treat illness to the best of their ability. We have shared our dilemmas and problems with the continuation of the clinic several times with the village community.

Rupantars senior health worker should be able to: 1. Diagnose common illnesses including emergencies such as fractures, acute gastroenteritis, severe pneumonia, seizures, injuries, acute abdomen, severe malaria etc 2. Manage common emergencies and decide about referral of those that she cannot manage.
