Bhargavi has been a Saathi for AID Austin since 2008. She leads the educational and campaigning efforts of the Environment Support Group in Bangalore. She conducts several trainings and workshops on issues such as awareness on GM food crops, environmental literacy issues such as water harvesting etc.

Most of the work has gained small and small achievements. The biggest development has been in the Mavallipura landfill case where the illegal landfill was shut down. Subsequent attempts by the government to reopen the landfill were also aptly handled and Mavallipura stays closed.

Bhargavi proposes to continue her work on 4 main issues: -Survey of the ground realities of illegal mining in Karnataka -Creating awareness among farmers and other communities on the GM food issue especially the importance of biodiversity -Continue to work on the urban issues of Bangalore especially to involve the poorer communities in the policy making decisions through discussions and workshops etc. - work on water security issues in Bangalore -She is also looking to extend into the illegal mining issues in Karnataka
