  Summary

In these times of great turmoil, educating public opinion is the
most potent way to bring about social and political change. While there are innumerable periodicals representing an alternative
voice in the media, the quality of information, philosophical and
conceptual content, analysis leaves much to be desired.
Sarvodaya Press Service (S P S) would try to bring together
various resources, writers, thinkers and reach out to a large
number of Marathi language periodicals with an alternative view point focusing on fundamental issues such as nonviolence, war,
nuclear energy, environment, water, economic policies,
globalization, peoples movements etc.

  Achievements

It hs been in print since early 2004.

  Goals

This project aims at starting a Marathi language press service (Sarvodaya Press Service) whcih will publish a periodical containing articles addressing the key issues facing contemporary India. These articles will express an alternative view point to these issues as compared to main stream media. This periodical will be published and sent to local magazines, newspapers. These magazines/newspapers will subscribe to this Marathi Sarvodaya Press Service and if they find any article interesting they will publish it i their magazine, thus giving these articles a wider readership. SPS will be paid some amount for every article published so that it is self-sustaining in the long run.
