  Summary

Training of Ramanwadi village workers in watershed management through the organization AFARM in Pune

  Achievements

Ramanwadi villagers visited AFARM and completed training in watershed work. Superb results of last years watershed project The pipeline (3000 feet) project implemented last year’s summer has this year (Jan-May-06) given superb results for all the 44 participants of the village. Few of the important points are – • This year almost all the villagers have grown groundnut on the available water because of which for next 4-5 months they don’t have to buy edible oil from market. • Police Patil grew so much of green leafy vegetables that he distributed free to villagers and still with the left vegetable he fed to cattle on regular basis.

  Goals

1)Exposure of villagers to formal training in watershed management 2) Identification of more motivated village workers to serve as future leaders in watershed mgmt 3) Use insight gained by training towards watershed mgmt in Ramanwadi
