  Summary

 

 

The 2004 floods in Bihar were the worst since 1987. It marooned 19 districts ( Out of 37 districts ) of Bihar, severely affecting 30 million people. Officially over 600 people died and thousands of cattle perished in this flood. Most of the flood victims in rural Bihar were displaced from their houses. With the water levels receding lives were lost to various diseases that followed and their was fear of spread of epidemics at which point this project aimed to give medical relief in one of the worst affected district of Bihar - Darbhanga.

Achievement of Project : 1378 patients attaneded to medical camps held in three blocks of Darbhanga Dist. Atlaeast 12 lives were saved due to timely medical intervention.
