  Summary

A peace march starting from New Delhi on March 23rd, 2005 and reaching Multan on May 11th has been undertaken by people from different parts of India and Pakistan, coming from different walks of life.

  Achievements

The Indian leg of the peace march was completed on April 20th. The response from the people in the different small town and villages of Haryana and Punjab was very supportive of the cause. In solidarity, many localites joined the march even if for short distances. Though the governments of both India and Pakistan impeded the interaction of Pakistani peace marchers in India and of Indian peace marchers in Pakistan, using visas and permissions as excuses, the march has resulted in a lot of positive energy for peace and focus on human development.

  Goals

(i) To foster the message of peace between India and Pakistan. (ii) To increase the people to people interaction between the Pakistani and Indian communities.
