The telescope will be used by AID-Chennai volunteers for showing deep-space objects as part of a traveling science exhibit. The telescope will be used to explain astronomy concepts to children in rural parts and moffussil towns (and of course, Chennai).

The idea is to take the telescope through villages where field volunteers will be organizing a star-watching event in evenings and nights. During this event, the volunteer will set up the telescope and invite children in the village to come and look through it and see different objects in space (such as stars, planets, moon-close-up etc.).
