  Summary

 

 

AID has been a long standing partner for Aranyika. Aranyika has a small number of core volunteers that live in Kodepalli and sorrounding villages and work with villagers in helping them solve their problems. The current proposal is to provide core support for 5 full timme volunteers including their main coordinator.

AID College Park wants to develop this relationiship to a broader level by exploring optiins to link Aranyika with some of AID Indias other programs in that area. In next few months Aranyika is planning to have a=some exploration visits to AID India projects to identify areas of common interest.

 
 

  Achievements

 

 

1. Tabelugummi Check Dam Aranyika was instrumental when they repaired this dam with Shramdhan from villagers. This has helped downstream villages in getting water for second crop 2. Functional Education Schools for Girls Aranyika coducted 10 functional education schools in 10 villages with AID support for tribal women and girls. Several of these students continued their association with Aranyika even after they completed the course. 3. Health Activities Aranyika organized cultural activities with over 20 volunteers to spread awareness of health issues including women’s health. These activities included spreading awareness of locally prevalent diseases such as malaria

 

  Goals

 

 

1. Coordination with VISHWAS Aranyika volunteers completed PRA Training They are helping villagers in preparing plans for maintaining drinking water wells and springs clean 2. Exposure Trips Aranyika will explore some opportunities to visit AID India programs in Srikakulam area. Similarly, they may invite AID India volunteers to visit Aranyika villages. 3. Water User Association Continue to strengthen Water User Associations that were formed after Aranyika helped in repairing Tabelugummi dam. 3.
