SAMVAAD (dialogue) Centre - A family, marriage, and crisis counselling center. It is a dialogue centre for resolving family and marital discords. It serves Pune city especially urban slum areas, such as Karvenagar. Professional social workers and experienced counsellors of Susamvad carry out the activities of the center. Funding needed to set up a telephonic help line service for women in crisis, a crisis center which will be attached to the helpline and a shelter for battered and
destitute women and their children. The shelter will house 25 women at a time. The crisis/ counselling centre for women, children, aged and families in relationship crisis , would be managed by counsellor, psychologist, legal practitioner and social worker. This would be supported by a network of referral and follow-up services. This center would also serve as an education center for methods of dialogue and confrontation and would initialize legal action in cases of human rights violations.

The project proposal is for setting up a pre-marriage education center. The thrust of the project would be to reach out to youth both in the urban area of Pune as well as to the other urban and rural areas of Maharashtra - both directly as well as through teams of trained pre-marriage educators.
