  Summary

The struggle against the proposed Athirappilly Hydro Electric Project across Chalakudy River, the fifth largest river in Kerala is gaining momentum with the Kerala State and the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) deciding to start the preliminary work within months, inspite of the widespread public opposition to the project. The Athirappilly HEP is the seventh large dam that is to be built across this 144 km small Western Ghats River.
This project is to support the struggle for human and environment angles that will get hugely impacted if this project goes through.
Please see proposal for full details.
