All four patients waiting have leprosy and are currently being treated at JSS.

 

  Summary

 

 

* Subsidies for medicines for leprosy patients, over and above the MDT that is provided by Government clinics,
* Salary for one doctor
* Salaries for one male and one female paramedical worker in leprosy
* Honorarium for one paramedical tutor from Karigiri for six months to train our paramedical workers
* Setting up a blood storage unit for our emergency needs. (JSS has already raised the funds for the equipment. They need the money for the building. )
* Technician salary for work in the new facility for Stone disease in the urinary tract which is a very common problem in the area

 
 

  Achievements

 

 

- Construction of new building for blood storage unit/microbiology center underway - Scheduled completion end of 2008 - Paramedical workers for leprosy hired and training completed - Subsidies for medicines for leprosy drugs are very important since a lot of patients cannot afford the medicines and hence run the risk of discontinuing the treatment - Phase I for JSS successfully completed (Project db entry # 71)
