SEED- Socially educationally and economically downtrodden. SEED was started in 1982 at Sriperambudur with around 27 children. Currently there are 300 children in SEED. SEED runs primary school for boys and girls, high school for boys, ITI training institute, tailoring and other courses. SEED was started with the aim of providing education and livelihood for the kids of life prisoners and leprosy patients.





-As first time in the history of the State, a Government Order was issued to admit the children of Life Prisoners, leprosy patients and other socially deprived children in SEED. -As a first time, in the history of the State, 10 days special leave ( parole ) was given to the prisoners to see their children by the Government each year during Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration -250 children completed Industrial Training in Fitter, Electrician, Wireman, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) Trades and Cutting & Tailoring and got gainful employment in good industries. (Hyundai, Army , Police Dept, Nurses at Ramachandra Medical College) -Children have also continued further studies diploma in civil and electronic engineering -Best Child Development Project in India - ROTARY CLUB OF INDIA (SERVICE TO HUMANITY award in 1995) -Gandhi National Award was given in the field of Education for the under privileged children.





The aim of the organization is to impart life oriented education as propounded by Mahatma Gandhi to make the children of life prisoners, leprosy patients , and also deserted and abandoned children to stand on their own feet and face the future with courage and skills.
