ALOKA was founded on 26th August 1995 as a registered voluntary organisation having intensive folk culture and socio-economic working experience in the villages and backward communities. This is a non-profit making social organization.
Main objectives of this projects are:
1. Provide training to traditional birth attendants (TBAs)
2. Mutlipuspose community development volunteer training
3. Village health awareness generation camps
Project covered 11 villages for this purpose & have a great success during the year 2003-2004. Now, the project will be extended to another 13 villages.





The organization is presently working in Dhenkanal and Angul districts of Orissa. And within Dhenkanal district it has initiated various rural development activities in Kadua, Mahulpal, Kusumjodi and Baruna panchayats covering 25 villages EXPERIENCE: -Folk culture street theatre performance, palla and drama. -Vocational training for rural women. -Environment protection. -IGP for women. -Rural health and functional education. They finished the project successfully with 11 villages during 2003-04 with support from AID-TAMU.





- To spread cultural knowledge & skill in the Society. - To start & establish libriaries,reading rooms,training & information centers on rural areas. - To promote peoplesí organization & village womenísí associations for rural developments. - To organize the youth & volunteers for social reformation. - To take rural health improvement programs. - To spread the universal primary education. - To undertake training, seminar, workshops & camps in rural areas for capacity building of the villagers. - To initiate various income generation activities with environment protection
