The project would be implemented in 10 villages from Chiplun taluka of Ratnagiri district. 2 Women Village Health workers (Arogyasakhia) from each village would be selected and trained by CEHAT doctors. These arogyasakhis would help in treatment of primary level diseases, perform referral services, and assist in spreading awareness regarding the right to health and government responsibilties. Pune based community organization Navam (www.navam.net) shall monitor and evaluate impact.





Training of Arogyasakhis is already in progress, and they have been accepted as important facilitators of health in their respective village communities





-To improve the status of women''s health, with focus on RTA. in these 10 villages -Make use of locally available medicines for treating primary level diseases like fever, diarrhoea etc. -Imrpoving health awareness, and right to health
