The village named Purba Dakshin Moyna is situated in the Gram Panchayat of Moyna-II under the Block called Moyna in the district of Purba Medinipore in West Bengal. The district is a flood prone and mono-cropping area. The district population consists of Scheduled Caste and backward communities. Extreme poverty creates a grim situation. The area is very backward in respect of social, cultural, and economical scenario. Educational status is also very poor.

Under the Gram Panchayat of Moyna-II of the Block-Moyna before 2003-04 there was not a single school within the radius of 3-5 kms. By the year 2003-04 the school was registered as a Madhyamik Shiksha Kendra under Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, West Bengal. It is mentionable that the school is a co-educated institution but is running short of classrooms, sitting arrangements and lavatory facilities so we can easily assume the poor situation especially for the girls. The temporary lavatory (made from brick with mud plaster) has no drainage system and no water supply making the place extremely unhygienic for the children. The teachers had a plan to dig a well there for continuous supply of water and a bio-gas plant for environment friendly use of the lavatory excreta; however, lacking of financial support inhibited their effort of water and a bio-gas plant for environment friendly use of the lavatory excreta in the future.

The project will be for a period of two years.
1. Toilet systems for students and teachers in the first year.
2. Developing Biogas system to utilize human excreta of the toilet in the next year

To develop a model school system in the area where there will be a child centric atmosphere, life based education and joyful teaching learning methodology. To promote a hygienic and environment friendly atmosphere in the rural education centre.
