  Summary

This project aims to effectively implement NREGA (National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) in three selected villages in the semi-arid Harpanahalli Taluk of Davanagere district. The methodology involves formation of a consortium with India Development Service (IDS), which SPS founder Mr.Hiremath had founded in the U.S.

  Achievements

SPS has in the previous years gained reputation, which has been attested by the site visits of various AID volunteers over the years, in empowering rural and tribal families through formation of groups (SHGs, VFCs etc) and guiding them. SPS has also played a big role in implementing Panchayati laws in the local gram sabhas and is actively involved in local self-governance implementation.

  Goals

To implement NREGA so that 1900 people out of 2800 get 100 days employment. To involve agricultural projects, horticulture, fisheries etc.
