-Community feast

-Community based health initiative by JSS (Jan Swasthya Sahyog) for Semariya cluster of villages, Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh.

-“Phulwari” is aimed to provide a crèche facility to all children in the age group of 6 months to 3 years at the village level (critical age group for immunity development).
- Both parents of many young infants have to work all day to sustain their livelihood leaving no one to attend to the nutritional needs of young infants
-Phulwari would be run by either one or two volunteer women from the same village.
-Supplementary nutritional food plus overall development inputs would be provided.
-The proposed budget would support 17 Phulwaris, 25 volunteers workers and 235 kids.

The village creche program is successfully running currently. Some achievements have been 1. The infants who attend the creche facility are being provided with nutritious food and development toys, thus making them stronger individuals 2. There has also been an increase in the school attendance of the siblings of these infants who earlier had to stay home to look after their younger sibling. 3. This program has provided employment to the local women who are paid village creche workers. 4. The mothers of the infants also have a peace of mind that their young infants are being cared for while they are attending their work.

-50 % of the children in the age group of 6 months to 3 years die because of under nutrition in the Semaria cluster of villages in Bilaspur district of Chattisgarh. The goal of this program is to provide food and day care shelter to those under nutrition children. The proposed program will take care of 235 children, at 17 phulwaris.
