Maruti Van funded by AID Penn state. this is used by the girls (who are mostly blind) to go to training facilities, food collection, delivery of assembled switches to Bosch main unit





The proposal is mainly to help Prerna in setting up an assembly unit of electrical switches supplied to ABB company. Under the umbrella Project “Roshni” ABB is partnering with “Prerana” the visually and Physically Challenged girls of Prerana are provided with sub assemblies Job for low voltage products factory of ABB. For enabling Prerana girls to do assembling works, ABB has installed many assembly machineries in the premises of Prerana which are worth of Rs. 6.00 lakhs. ABB has laid down the essential requirements at the unit such as spacious barrier free accommodation, office equipments, uniform dresses etc. This proposal is for providing monetary help in setting up this unit.





** Registered 820 Visually impaired persons & provided counseling & different types of services based on the individual needs. ** Found jobs for 315 visually impaired girls of different age groups. A table of types of jobs found and number benefited is separately given. ** Mobilized 650 white canes from Canara Bank Social Banking Cell and distributed them to visually impaired persons free of cost. ** Intensive counseling services provided to 87 visually impaired women. ** Organized series of Awareness Camps (two days duration) for 950 visually imparted person with the help of Govt. Disabled Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka ** Facilitated process of bringing officials and disabled person together to get them a Disability Identification Card, 915 DPs got the ID cards. ** 160 Visually impaired persons benefited from the Mobility training ** Organized Cut Cocoon training for 35 disabled women with the help of Women Development Corporation, Government of Karnataka and a production unit is employing these women. ** Visually impaired women benefited from the Home Management training ** 120 disabled women undergone training in basket making, telephone mat making, garlands making, paper bag making and they are engaged in production. ** 46 Visually impaired women were trained in sewing Gunny bags and supply the same to the Modern Food industries. ** 13 girls were trained for the assembly of switches and some electrical parts. They are currently working in ABB set up inside Prerna premises
