  Summary

 

 

Omashram is a charitable trust formed with the main objective of providing succor and care for the old. With this objective in mind, the trust has established an old age home that provides comfortable, clean and hygienic boarding and lodging facilities with nursing and medical care. It’s an experiment in community living where every member is made to feel at home without the impersonal atmosphere of an old age home.

The premises of the old age home are located at Arakere Village on Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore in a quiet, peaceful and serene surroundings.

 
 

  Achievements

 

 

The funds that were sent to Omashram, were used for stocking medicines, buying beds and kitchen equipment, walking sticks and provisions etc. for the residents. Please refer to the attached document in Omashram project id: 474. which shows a detailed list of expenses.

 

  Goals

 

 

Omashram is a Charitable Trust founded in 2001 with the objective of providing care and succor to the old. It is the brainchild of Mr. Mohan Pai, formerly from the field of Advertising and Marketing and author of two books “The Western Ghats” and the “Elderly” and Ms Geeta Shankar a dedicated social worker. Omashram provides care and comfort in the evening of their lives to old people, drawn from the poor and middle class, abandoned by their families. It provides full boarding and lodging facility, personal nursing, medical care by a doctor on-call, a library, and occupational diversions to the old. It also periodically organizes free orthopaedic check up camps for the old and first aid to citizens in the area.
