The target community consists of scheduled caste/tribal families The proposed intervention will be focused towards working with the above-mentioned community who migrate in distressed conditions to work in brick kilns surrounding Hyderabad/Secunderabad and whose children are deprived of minimum needs like shelter, water/food, education and health facilities.





Education: Totally, 682 children were educated in 10 Bridge Course Centres and going to be promoted into higher classes, related to their age and standard. Schools were constructed and writing slates were bought for the children by the owners of the Kilns Health: 598 children were administered Polio Drops as part of the immunisation program through health camps, conducted by DMHO 27 pregnant women were given health check ups through the teachers intervention, through counselling of the owners Legal aid: 80 workers including 43 children were released from the bonded work in Venkata Ratnam Brick Kiln of Annaram village 3 police cases filed regarding the death of deceased workers are being followed up by actionaid, to access the compensation to the families of the victims Linkages: Good linkages were developed with various government departments and local youth organisations for further support such as mid day meals for school children, implementing of the Public Distribution Services scheme for the workers, access to health services from APNA and DMHO, approaching Police Departments for legal aid.





The Specific Objectives of the project are to provide basic facilities of shelter and health care for infants and a bridge course for children between age group 0-5 in close proximity to the kilns (around 40). Efforts will be made to forge network with the concerned government departments of the Andhra Pradesh and non-government organizations for providing these amenities.
