Disha opening ceremony - 26th Jan, 2009





-This project is for a second non-formal school (Disha) targeting children of migrant construction laborers and daily wage workers from the 3-4 surrounding slums, to provide basic elementary education with a regular teacher for around 50 students. Class are held 6 days/wk for 4 hr/day. Also included is funding for the nutrition program for the first school, Unnati, for some basic refreshments of fruit and milk nutrition mixture for the children at the end of class.





-4 children from the fist school Unnati were admitted to a private school. (Tara and Vinod received overall scores of 90% as of 1Q09). 2 children admitted to a regular school(Pallavanjali Institute for the Actualisation of Individual Potential).





-Provide basic elementary education for school age children who would otherwise not recieve any education, and provide individual mentorship and help to prepare for regular school addmissions for deserving and able students.
