  Summary

 

 

Relief and rehabilitation for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who have fled Chhattisgarh and settled in forests of Andhra Pradesh. The current project extends relief services to Palvancha mandal in Warangal district and provides for long term rehabilitation either through securing services in Andhra Pradesh or helping the people return safely to their native villages in Chhattisgarh and resuming their earlier livelihoods. This is a second phase of Project ID 619

 
 

  Achievements

 

 

As of May 2009, 200 IDPs have returned to their homes. Concerned citizens from Hyderabad, Kakinada and Khammam area have met them before and after their return

 

  Goals

 

 

To provide relief services to IDPs in Khammam and Warangal districts. To empower people to make informed decisions about their long term rehabilitation. To facilitate civil society dialogue about the plight of IDPs. To train youth in organizing community, securing government services including NREGA employment, ICDS, schools, wells, rations, and health services.
