  Summary

 

 

INS is a secular, non-profit organization working towards the development of rural poor, particularly women in the Palani Hills of South India. The project is aimed at preserving the traditional dance and music of the tribal communities in the Palani Hills by forming a dance and music troupe and providing them adequate support and training.

 
 

  Achievements

 

 

First quarterly progress report has been uploaded in documents. June 14, 2010: Second quarter progress report and a few more pictures have been uploaded.

 

  Goals

 

 

1. Train and establish a troupe of singers and dancers drawn from tribal villages of the area 2. In one year, train them to perform professionally 3. After one year, become self-sufficient through paid performances
