- Evolving a river revival and management action plan and its implementation
- Sensitising the young towards river conservation and evolving a river school for interested and committed youth
- evolving a decentralised participatory River Basin Authority framework with basic workable principles applicable to all rivers
- Implement environmental flows in rivers Moratorium on large Hydro Electric Projects in the Kerala Western Ghats





- Collection, compilation, analysis of reports, studies on Chalakudy river for providing legal support to the PIL in Kerala High Court - Broad basing grass root campaign and lobbying against Athirappilly Project - Supporting other grass root campaigns and groups in legal and technical matters all over Kerala - sand mining, quarrying, industrial pollution etc. - Interventions in legal and policy matters related to environment and natural resources - state and national level - EIA, NEP, NEPA etc. - Reach out to student, farmer and the public on the need for river conservation - Strengthening of the Save Western Ghats Movement





- Successful in mobilising communities against Athirappilly project and stalling the project for the last 10 years - Managed to quash the envrionemntal clearance granted to the Athirappilly project in 2005 through building a good case in the Kerala High COurt in 2006-07 - Draft river revival and management action plan is ready and has been circulated among experts for comments and changes- - School for rivers program just started - Initiated a state wide campaign towards moratorium on large hydro power projects in the Western ghats of Kerala - Played a key role in reviving the Save Western Ghats Movement which had faded out in the 1990s - first meeting in Goa in 2009 and the next one planned in 2010 in Kotagiri
