  Summary

Apne Aap<apostrophe>s agenda is to organise women and work with men to end gender-based violence, particularly the trafficking of women and children for prostitution in South Asia. The proposed project, "Youth Educational Programme", is for providing vocational training
and education to children of sex workers with the aim of stopping the process of these children joining gangs and/or being pushed into sex work. This project involves running regular training sessions in three subjects-areas with the help of trainers from the surrounding area willing to come to their Centre to instruct the youth. The goal of this programme is to prepare the children for school, for further study or for the workplace.

  Achievements

The education program was modified to include a nutrition component, following a site visit and discussion. The center now operates tuitions, where children of sex workers are provided after-school assistance for Hindi and Marathi-medium syllabi. Sewing class and other vocational training is also offered.
